Beach Pickleball Courts in Santa Barbara Proposal
Hello,
I am pleased to present this proposal for the development of state-of-the-art Beach Pickleball Courts in Santa Barbara. The rapidly growing popularity of pickleball in the United States, combined with the increasing demand for recreational activities, presents an exciting opportunity for the city to provide high-quality facilities for its residents. I propose a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) where I will design, construct, and manage the installation of the pickleball courts, and the city will cover the costs of the project. This partnership will enhance the city’s recreational offerings while providing a valuable resource for the community.
You can see some examples of pickleball on the beach here:

Project Benefits to the City
Community Engagement: The addition of pickleball courts would serve as a hub for socializing, fitness, and local events, bringing the community together. We currently have 11 volleyball courts at East beach but no paddle sports are represented along the entire beachfront.
Economic Impact: The courts will attract tourists, local pickleball leagues, and tournaments, generating revenue for the city through park usage, local businesses, and events.
Sustainability and Cost-Efficiency: The design and construction process will adhere to the city's sustainability guidelines. Additionally, the project will be built with long-lasting materials that minimize future maintenance costs.
While I will handle the construction of the courts, I am open to discussing a long-term agreement for maintenance and management of the courts. If the city prefers, I can offer a maintenance plan for an agreed-upon term to ensure the courts remain in pristine condition.
